Yalla
Yalla: What?
Yalla is a Middle Eastern word meaning: “come on, let’s get on with it, get moving”, but to us Yalla also implies determination, efficiency, affection, freshness and superior quality.
Yalla was established by Dov Sokoni who has a long association with the Sydney food scene. Dov set up his first restaurant in the Taylor Square area 15 years ago. He then established ‘Dov’ which is still frequented by very loyal locals today.
Dov was then invited to The Wharf restaurant at the Pier on the Sydney Harbour which is today owned & operated by Tim Pak Poy.
Bondi Beach was Dov’s next call with Yalla, a typical Middle Eastern restaurant. At Yalla’s, Dov produced some of the most sophisticated Middle Eastern dips, dishes and desserts.
The Yalla range has grown out of Dov’s desire to share his fantastic dips and dessert recipes with the general public. Today Dov concentrates solely on his range of take home products.
Yalla stands out amongst the crowd because of Dov’s determination to deliver a fresh, restaurant quality product to the general public. The entire Yalla range is hand made with a lot of love and care.
Yalla may be found in the best delicatessens, freshest vegetable shops and cafes up and down the coast of NSW : from Bateman’s Bay, Canberra, South West and as far as Newcastle. We are also in the Sydney David Jones’s food halls at Market St and Bondi Junction.
It is now available in Queensland through Fino Foods!
